We the undersigned protest the defaming portrayal of Pit Bulls (a.k.a. American Staffordshire Terriers) within the media for the sole purpose of insinuating violence, aggression and generalized menace to legitimatize a script. The portrayal of this breed in such a light is inflammatory and serves only to further the fear and biased uninformed opinion of the uneducated viewer thus contributing to the continued prejudice toward the breed. The abuse and discrimination the breed has endured due to propaganda such as the inflammatory contents of the aforementioned scripted dramatization as well as sensationalized news broadcasts is intolerable and irresponsible. We adamantly oppose such depiction and demand that there be no further/future exploitive representation without the incorporation of a clearly posted disclaimer within the parameters of the relevant scene that the animal is a product of environment and human interaction and/or under trainer directive.
