Petition for Speed Restrictions on Tongue Lane and beyond

My daughter had a very near miss on this crossing that was reported to the police last year and they did give the driver verbale warning proving that this crossing is very dangerous to people having to use it.

I support the need for a speed resriction and railings between the schools and the entrance to King Alfreds woods on Tongue Lane.

I support a speed limit of 20mph on tongue land and surrounding road and Woodlea Estate

Crossing this road is a nightmare and something needs to be done before there is a serious incident.

i live opposite the pet shop, have a cat and im too scared to let him out since the cars speed up the hill so so fast. trying to park at my own house is dangerous.

If I had a £1 for every thoughtless driver who thinks signalling at the Tongue Lane/Parkside Road Roundabout is optional, I'd be a you know what!

My family and I live at the bottom of Church Lane and since moving here we have been concerned with the speed cars take to travel up and down the street. As it is a short-cut to the ring road the amount of cars taking this route is considerable especially at rush hour. On New Year's Eve a car was speeding down Church Lane, crashed into my sisters car and neighbours car writing all three cars off and causing considerable damage to my neighbours wall. I am shocked there is no traffic controlling measures already in place an d fear for further incidents on this street.

Most of the traffic using Tongue Lane and Church Lane seem to think that 30 mph is the minimum speed for these roads.

I agree and have seen the traffic whizzing up and down Church Lane. As a grandmother escorting my grandchildren from school, it can be rather frightening especially during the winter months when it is dark.

Church Lane is angerous, especially at rush hour with cars racing down the hill when large numbers of school children are trying to cross

i agree with this petition,i see cars all the time going over the crossings,when the kids are waiting to cross,it gets me angry!!!

Yes I agree with all suggestions and with the comment about putting railings between the gap of both schools and the King Alfreds Woods entrance many of us walk that way to and from school and when we come to the main road it gets very worrying when cars and larger vehicles are speeding uo and down.Having walked both directions I agree that things should get sorted before fatalities occur and not after!
