We, the undersigned, are keenly interested in seeing M.D. Spenser's 36-book "Shivers" series of scary novels for children republished in its entirety.
The series was extremely popular when it was published in the late 1990s. The books are well-written, vivid and very entertaining. Through them, children with an aversion to books have developed a love of reading. They live on in the memories of those who read them a decade ago.
Children today who manage to buy used copies ask persistently how they can get the other books in the series. We have searched for copies to buy and come up empty.
We would happily go to bookstores in great numbers to buy individual copies or complete sets -- as would our friends, relatives, neighbors and fellow parents, to whom we would recommend the series wholeheartedly.
We are confident that if the series were published again it would sell very well, and we urge interested publishers to give the idea careful consideration.

We just hit two hundred and fifty signatures. It is exhausting to keep pushing when the silence from publishers continues, but seeing this many people remember these books reminds me why I started.

I read these books in the early 2000's, and even then I could only find them at my local goodwill. I sought them out avidly as a child of 8-12 and only ever found about a third of them. Now, as an adult, I must pay comparatively high prices buying the missing volumes on ebay, and would gladly support their republication for a new generation. This series has some grit to it that sets it apart, and above, its many competitors in the world of kids horror.

I loved these books growing up and I'd love to be able to read them with my girls.
I read books 1-24 as a child. I thought the series had ended.I cannot wait to share them with my children. I am now in progress of replacing and finishing the series. My collection was lost years ago in a move but they were a cherished possession. I still relive the feelings of anticipation and feel the hair stand up on my neck as I recall specific stories and replay the images I was able to create in my mind with the descriptive writing.
Just rediscovered several of the shivers series books, I haven't seen these things in years. I would like to on know where to purchase to share with my children
I first discovered Shivers! in my early teens. I have always had a penchant for the macabre, and Shivers! fit the bill. I lost all but one of my collection long ago, and would love to be able to collect them all together again!

These books are my childhood! I remember reading these at my grandmas when I was a kid, the mom being a werewolf one always stuck with me. I'd love to se these republished in paperback form.

I loved the series. all of my books were burned in a house fire :( I have been wanting them back ever since. I think I was 17 when I lost all of them I am 33 now...I still want them!

I have most of the books somewhere around here. I just cannot find them. I know my daughter would get into them if i could get my hands on them. I have searched high and low for these books. For millions selling a long time ago, there sure are none for sale anywhere around me. We don't even have them in any libraries in my area. Plz PLZ reprint this book series! You'll be glad you did if you do!
I want to have the full collection to preserve for the next generation of readers. In my family. I love reading and all my family did was talk about the books they read but none can really show them so I can read it myself. I want to do it, I want my future kids and grandkids to have access to these classics.

I've been lucky enough to find a few of these books at used book stores and flea markets. I love how dark and twisted they are, especially compared to Goosebumps. I also loved looking for the skull in the cover art. Denying kids a way to process fear in a safe space doesn't help them learn to do so later in life.
This Series should live on........ it made my childhood wonderful I wish more children have the same or similar experience ..

I loved these books as a kid! For kids like me who craved a darker and more gory take of Goosebumps, these books were a godsend. If we can bring back Goosebumps, then we bring back Shivers!

I was a fan and voracious reader of Goosebumps books when I was a kid. One time, my parents bought me a Shivers books, and I thought it was BETTER than Goosebumps, and scarier. Now as a parent, I would rather skip the Goosebumps and offer Shivers to my kids instead.

I remember reading all these books in the 90's along with my friends, today we are left with only the memories and a couple of copies. My children now want to read the others. These books were and will be again very popular. I hope a publisher brings them back to life.

Books that allow kids to invoke stories in their mind, create passages on a mental level. Nurturing imagination. Please let books like this come back. With the power and strength a series such as this carries, from the attention and focus it thrived on once upon a time.
