We oppose the MCOLES decision requiring that part-time police officers in the State of Michigan work a minimum of 520 hours per year. We further oppose any future legislation to amend PA 203 to reflect that MCOLES proposal. We feel that this decision will make our communities more vulnerable to crime and reduce the amount of police protection across the state.
