As it now looks that you will be the Republican nominee, your attention will likely turn to selecting a running mate. With your appeal to independents and moderates, selecting someone that will solidify your support among conservatives is probably what you will be advised to do. We are writing specifically to request that you not select Mike Huckabee for the office. While some will suggest that Mike Huckabee is the candidate to shore up conservative support, we believe that Huckabee will not be the best choice to do so. Senator, you have spent your entire career building a reputation for straight talk. Allow us to be very frank about our concerns with Gov. Huckabee. Huckabee has implicitly and overtly used religious bigotry in his campaign against Mitt Romney.
