CAT 1 Racers are not allowed to purchase 1-day licenses, they must purchase an annual license in order to compete in a USA Cycling Mtn Bike Event. This rule adversely effects racing in the following ways: 1. It has reduced the Cat 1 fields. Occasional racers do not choose to participate when they have to purchase an annual license. 2. It has encouraged sandbagging in the Cat 2 class, as racers avoid having to move up categories due to cost. The undersigned petitioners would like for USACycling to allow Cat 1 racers (as well as Cat 2-3) to purchase 1 Day licenses. It is understood that this may mean that National Points will not be applied to racers who only purchase 1 day licenses.
