As a practicing Jew it is impossible for me to completely shave. There are very strict rules laid out with regards to this in my religion.

My son works at marketbasket started last year in 8th grade! 14 yrs old. He has been wearing bandaids at work over his ear piercing!!!! I called and spoke with the store manager they told me only girls can have one set of earrings, I asked why can’t my son just cause he’s a boy? That’s not fair. I know the nose piercing he has should be covered up I haven’t even fought that until they told him he can’t even tuck it up where it can’t be seen talking him he needs to remove it. I was also told tattoos is the same as piercings they needs to be covered! Well in the deli there’s a gentleman who has tattoos and two neck ones that are never covered. The meat room boy had to cut his hair in order to keep his job there. But it’s okay for body odor and disgusting shirts that should be white but are now whitish gray! My daughter cut 14in off her hair to wear a pony tail there and they still told

Beards should be just fine. I find that if an employer supports men who are transgender to wear makeup, eyeliner, fake nails etc, or girls to shave their heads, wear cologne, and dress as males, then surely a person of whatever sex to have a beard should be every bit as logical providing they wear beard nets.

My daughter was denied the job for having purple hair but I get meat at the deli and there is an employee with bright red Unatural hair color doesn't make sense or fair my daughter has her serve safe certificate a job already looking for another so it's there lose just passed me off tell her the truth why don't blow smoke

Well said, Eric. 6 yrs and now the rabble (from the rank and file) is complaining about my moustache which is neatly trim. Have had given nothing but excellent customer service and am a teamplayer and those who wish me ill making a stew about nothing. Policy says moustache neatly trim. I’m standing by that.

When Adolf Hitler killed people over eye color and hair it was wrong. When you tell your male employees they can have a mustache but no beard you fall in the same category. Being cleaned shaved is one thing. Telling a man how to shave is another. As a former employee I have never agreed with these rules. My daughter recently applied and was told she would need to die her hair from a bright red to blond, brown, or a neutral color. She seemed heart broken when she told me this. We cannot define someone by the color of their hair. Great people come in all colors, shapes, and forms.

All thing must come to an end, one day I hope it will be the requirements of physical looks. If they were to hire people with facail hair, piercings and colored hair they could double their work force in just two weeks. If you're concerned about hair in food THERE ARE BEARD NETS!! I know so many people who would wear a beard net just to have a beard. Some of the boys/men working have never gotten to grow out their beard because they've been working there since before puberty.

as a customer, I think it's outdated to demand "above the collar" hair for men, and completely clean shaven. Hair color is a personal choice. I understand keeping yourself neat looking, but hair length and color, even rainbow colors, do not interfere with this. I don't choose where I shop by dress code, and much prefer that people are able to express their personalities.

I am a customer, and I just learned about the dress code from a cashier that complimented my slightly plum tinted hair. I came home and googled the dress code and found this petition. I do believe in dress codes in business, however, a lot of yours are extremely outdated. And worse, you are courting lawsuits with gender specific rules.
