Market Basket Dress Code Reform

I 100% agree with this. The dress code is outdated and should be modernized.

I do not work at market basket but it truly would be nice to see people being themselves at school work and home

I would also add that such discrimination based on hair styles and piercings may very well be a detriment to the company. You may be passing up an excellent employee with a fantastic work ethic just because his hair is too long or her nose is pierced. It's not only unfair to young people that are looking for their first jobs, but it's a loss to your workforce as well. My 16 year old recently applied at our local store, but was refused because of his ponytail. It's a loss for you because, at 16, he is enrolled in a welding program in addition to his high school studies, has been to Japan with his honors Japanese class and works with disabled kids on the unified soccer and basketball teams. Oddly, he has no problem with his hair in the welding program, so if it isn't a safety issue for them, it shouldn't be an aesthetic issue for you. In the end though, not having him as an employee for your company is your loss. I hope you will reconsider this outdated and unfair policy.

I work there now and i have silvee gray hair and my.manager barely allowed that. All i eant are simple things other ppl have. If they fire me for that then..... Im an amazing worker... I will not stand for it... Not with the way things are run... All i ever try to do in the deli is make everythinv so clean and perfect for every customer. And others dont. So if they fire me for an earring thats absurd.

Also regarding specific color for collared shirt. Not everyone has money to buy a different colored shirt specifically for his job.

I once saw a a manager lecture a girl about her dyed hair, which was a normal shade of red. This was a very unpleasant shopping experience.

Yes, I firmly agree with what this potion stands for and to not have these things changed would be a crime against thier workers!

I would love to work at MB but due to the underneath of my hair being blue I cant. Also I have 5 earings and I WILL NOT take them out for a part-time job

having piercings or colored hair does NOT affect our working ability. honestly, people that i have met with piercings and neon colored hair are hands down some of THE nicest people that i have ever met! let people express themselves in the way that they want too..

I would like for them to allow us to wear boots during the winter it's to cold to be working with shoes about evert hung else I don't know about all the piercing and crazy color hair

You guys make me untie my hair which looks more unprofessional than having it in a nice clean bun.
