Market Basket Dress Code Reform

i couldn’t be hired because of what i looked like and that to me is plain wrong

I just want my nose pierced

i want my bff to be able to get her nose pierced

I want a beard

I believe it is truly unfair that I cannot grow my hair even though it is buzzed on the sides and 3 inches max on top

I have facial hair and I’m not very fond of letting it go

My son was sent home because his hair was dyed purple. No radical just a slight shade. He ended up getting a haircut which is not in line with his current style or level of comfort. If they serve customers with dyed hair hair and piercings then the staff should be allowed to complement this current modern lifestyle.

I heard that there was a limit on braids as well; that should also be removed from the dress code. Eliminating braids would disproportionately affect people of color who choose to have long-term braids in their hair, and has no impact whatsoever on cleanliness of the person with that hairstyle.

Marketbasket is the best grocery sore in the area. The dress code was really troubling to hear about. We both sent emails (which you can do through there website) and my wife called them. Lets keep this conversation going and make market basket better!

My 16 yr old went on an interview at Market Basket in Bellingham Ma she was told to put her hair back to it's normal color. A few blue and purple highlights and take out her very small nose stud. call back and she can have the job. My sweet 16yearold came home so upset. I went to Market Basket and told the person that she meet with what she did to my girl she didn't think it was a big deal. I do. This is not right. she was so up set. She is just 16.

I just really want to dye my hair. It’s unfair that I won’t be able to for as long as I work there. Which will probably be awhile. Not to mention I work part time. Just let us be happy

I strongly agree with petition due to the fact that most employees express their identify through piercings and hair color.

i have worked at market basket for two years now in two diffrent stores because i transfered to another one when i went away for college i would love to have a beard like my family and friends but because i work here i have not had the opurtuninty.I belive that thier is nothing unprofessional about a well groomed and kept beard so long as they are kept clean and tighty thier should be no problems with them

I worked at MB several years ago and the dress code policies were utterly ridiculous. Men must have short hair and the only facial hair allowed is a mustache? What is this, the 50's?
