Fabric marts are essential only because we need them so we can make our mask just in case we don’t have outside shipments we can rely on our trusted local fabric mart to provide us with supplies.

I'm making masks for first responders and anyone else that needs one. I haven't been able to find the elastic or required black fabric for specific organizations but I just learned yesterday that Fabric Mart has plenty of the much needed elastic. Please reconsider your decision on closing their business. There is no reason they cannot operate during the day just as other retailers have been. They are trying hard to support the community and so are we. Aloha.

I’m donating to our homeless and frontline workers. Without Fabric Mart, the locals will struggle for allocating resources for proper protection! Our PEOPLE first. Our health first and we need Fabric Mart! I have spoken. I will pursue law suit if I’m restricted in allocating local materials for my live business. Mahalo.

Face mask are increasingly becoming a necessary and critical item each day. Fabric stores help support the continued production of masks which in turn support those in essential jobs as well as the general public in essential activities.

This makes it inconvenient for volunteers making masks in bulk for people on the front lines.

Seamstresses need to feel the weight and tightness of the fabric weave otherwise our efforts are wasted.

How we will make masks?

Please allow fabric stores to remain open.

All fabric are not alike. One too light will make a face mask inferior and useless. Online you can't tell.

Since face masks are hard to get...why not let us get our on materials to sew!

With so many in need of masks, why are we doing this? The people sewing these mask are providing for all us essential workers who have no access to go out and buy one. Come on Mayor!

While stores on the Mainland (i.e. Michael's and JoAnn's) continue to service their communities by providing curbside pickup service, people in Hawaii are forced to order online thru sites like Amazon, eBay, etc and wait for weeks if not months to get supplies for masks.

Fabric stores should be viewed as essential so that the community can continue to make masks. This is to help keep our community safe!
