Please keep this store open. I work in the same building as Kaimuki Dry Goods and have been a daily witness to the need for this store to remain open. They have been handling this situation with the utmost caution and have provided a great service to many, many people who have faced the need for protective masks and are unable to buy one so must therefore make their own. Please let them continue to provide this opportunity to the citizens to be able to participate in the preservation of their own health & safety. Aloha

Kaimuki Dry Goods provides an important community resource particularly during this crisis. We need to have more access than curbside pickup to meet the current mask making demands.

If you are requiring everyone to wear fabric masks, then the fabric stores should be deemed essential to obtain materials for mask making

Face Masks are desperately needed everywhere, but they won’t get made if the fabric stores are not allowed to open.

I must check fabric personally for fiber content and unsafe chemicals .
The mask is next the wearer’s mouth!

Local fabric stores are my only readily available source for materials such as fabric and elastic, that I am using to make masks for my family, friends and neighbors. I give the masks away free as a contribution to keeping us all safe and respecting CDC guidelines. Please allow the fabric stores to re-open for those of us who are sewing for the rest of us! Aloha

We need to keep the fabric stores open, so that we can make mask and head coverings for health care workers. You let the surfers surf, well let the sewers sew.

You asked the public to make medical face masks for the hospitals and nurses and doctors. We need to have the fabric stores remain open so that we can purchase materials to satisfy your request. By closing down the fabric stores you are handcuffing us into providing services that you are requesting from the public. Keep the stores open. They are already on shortened hours.

I have gone to Kaimuki Dry Goods several times during the last weeks; standing an hour to get in, purchase material & elastic; standing in line another hour. Practicing social distancing by standing at least 6 ft apart and also wearing a mask. I needed to purchase material in order to make masks for my family & co-workers. It is difficult to order on-line as I want to be able to pick out my fabric.
Kaimuki Dry Goods is an essential business!

Due to shortage of face masks - I believe this will give the opportunity for the people of the state of Hawaii to come together and help one another by either donating or selling face masks for those who don't have any or needs more. Give the people the chance to make masks for those who can't. We need to be safe, healthy, and protected so we can beat this coronavirus and get our numbers to ZERO positive cases.
