Has anybody pointed out to the Ministerthat the teachers can be shared across both buidings in a Junior/Senior setup?

I have read the minister's reply to the group and I believe that he is missing the point. He apears to believe that we the campaign is for two schools a junior and senior and not one school separated into Junior/senior cycle.

Two distinct schools on the same site makes absolutely no sense! Will just lead to rivalry and gangs fighting!

Two schools will just cause fighting between the students in either school especially when it comes to sport causing very close local rivalry

Have just read the letter from Minister Quinn, not one robust point made to justify two separate schools, at what point will the Minister actually listen to parental concern and opinion in the community of Maynooth, he is a taxpayer elected representative who has a responsibility to ensure that national political decisions make sense at a local level, these are our children, our community and ultimately we will live with the consequences of his decision when he is long gone from office.

For a sense of unity and community, Maynooth needs to maintain its entity as a whole, one-school town where everyone has equal opportunities in education- where there will thereby be no tension between differing pupils of competition school
