Our children are the men and women of tomorrow and need the space to be as free as the wild flower...give them the chance to grow into happy, strong, healthy individuals. They need that as much the need the space Cardiff City Council need to build house.

This area has been used as a play area and usable green space for almost fifty years. It needs to be maintained to enable local people to enjoy their recreation in safety away from traffic.

This shows contempt by the council for the children of the estate who use the field for playing, sport and exercise.

The loss of this much loved and well used facility in its present form will have a devastating effect on all Danescourt residents.

This area is so well used with children running, playing football etc. In a time when there us a concern that children are overweight and do not take enough exercise it seems ridiculous not to maintain a safe, overlooked, public open space.

There must be a way to include some uncut patches (eg among the tall trees) and borders to boost biodiversity. But this is really well used community space and its uses are not compatible with a uniform one-cut strategy, so I support this petition. Also would love to see more of the roadside grass around danescourt and llantrisant Rd left uncut over the summer, and hope the Council will continue to protect our cherished nature in Danescourt Wood and Meadow.

It has to remain as a field for families to use so that children have a safe environment near to home to play outside

That field is in continuous use from football, cricket use,to dog walking and social use. Leave it for what it was intended.

I am all for biodiversity and wild meadows however a compromise is needed, children need a clean space to play as well as appreciate the flowers and insects that this would create.

This green space is invaluable to the community in Danescourt and needs to be kept as an area for children and families to use. There are other areas that could be used for supporting wildlife.

Shame on CCC hiding behind the excuse of conservation and biodiversity.
CCC get the flymo out-residents of Danescourt pay enough in council tax for the grass to be cut a few times a year!

This area of green space is important to local.community. leaving it to grow will soon leave it covered it covered in rubbish and dog poo and attract vermin. Plus the lack of a nice space to kick a ball around in.
