I grew up in Matteson. When I first moved there, it was a great place to live. But over the years, the value of the community started to depreciate. The Lincoln Mall slowly began to fade away until there were no stores left. Then the Target, the Walmart, and Sams Club. Violence increased. These things are not okay. For years I've been saying we need to bring life into this community. A new mall, a movie theater, something! Here is a chance to do something to bring life and revenue back into the community I know and love. Please, consider this. Matteson needs a boost before it turns into the ghetto.
