Restoring Same-Sex Romances in the Mass Effect Legendary Edition

Y’all wouldn’t have to do much to make it work just let us be gay in video games finally. And in time for PRIDE MONTH too

I've been waiting 13 years and still haven't heard a good reason why Kaidan wasn't an LI for male Shepards from the first game. Hearing that Jacob was originally envisioned as a gay romance was just more disappointment. I know BioWare can do better - I just wish they didn't have to keep being shamed into it.

I feel deeply disappointed Legendary edition does not include at least MShep-Kaidan romance in ME1. You have my support guys!

Jack admits that she was in a relationship with a man and a woman making her bisexual and polyamorous. And yet Female Shepherd can't romance her?! Also the bisexual/pansexual vibes I get off Thane and Tali'Zorah are enormous! I really really like to be able to romance Thane with my male Shepard character. Also Male Shepard should get the Citadel Javik 'romance' scene. And in the first Mass Effect Female Shepard is obviously flirting with Ashley why can't I romance her? Also Male shepard and Kaiden should get the 3 game spanning epic romance too!!! ( though I do headcanon that Kaiden is Asexual or at least demi.) Basicially I want all the gays

Seriously, if modders can do it then the people with access to the official tools and source code/data should be able to as well. Our Shepard's should reflect who we are

Why is mass effect not allowed the same romance options as dragon age was? In mass effect, even though we play the same person, we sometimes can’t romance who we want until the second or third game, even if they’ve been with us for the entirety of it.

LGBTQ+ gamers deserve to have the same options or representation. It's almost hypocritical to allow players to design their own version of Sheperd but not give them the full options to romance characters that reflects their daily lives.

This isn't right! We deserve LGBT+ rep in games just as much as straight people do!

Another year and another disappointment from Bioware...why am I not surprised? It's 2021 and a MShep/Kaiden romance should be achievable in all 3 games, not just ME3. Please patch this and make it possible!

It is a major letdown that BioWare continuously attack their gay/bi male fan base by neglecting them and catering to literally everyone else. Restoring Kaiden in ME1 is not a difficult feat to ask. The lines are already there. Why has he not been restored? I demand an explanation, and I demand it be rectified.

Hey Bioware. If you make it seem like bisexuals aren’t a priority for you, we’ll make sure your games aren’t a priority for us.

The continued erasure of characters' bisexuality sends a clear message to bi fans that BioWare does not value us, that they do not see us worth the effort, that they see us as an inconvenience. BioWare has made it clear that they do not think bi people are worthy of being called "legendary." The biphobia in the trilogy is archaic. It was not cool when the games first came out and it is not cool now that the remaster is out. They can make all the excuses they want but we know that their words are just that: excuses. Mass Effect Andromeda proved that it is possible to return a character's bisexuality to them in a post-release patch. Andromeda's team listened to us and heard our pain and knew they had to fix it, *so they did.* They returned Jaal's bisexuality to Andromeda. It didn't change the game's story. It didn't change Jaal's personality or character development. All it did was make the overall game more inclusive. It *enhanced* Andromeda. BioWare is perfectly capable of enhancing MELE in this way as well because the Andromeda team proved that they could do it in the first place. They did it once, they can do it again, and we have every right to demand that they do, to make our pain known and make it clear that enough is enough.

Representation is important, and we should be able to romance these characters as the character we want to be, not being forced to play another gender to romance our favourite companion.

I haven’t bought the legendary edition because it didn’t add the lgbt content that was recorded. if they were to add it, i’d buy it legit in a heart beat.

I have not played this game (yet) but add the gay, fools.
