I'm a cishet man but I would welcome added representation in MELE where possible, not only for the reasons explained by the people who made this petition, but also because it affords more role-playing options for all players. Please consider making these changes if it is at all possible.

This game is about choices, which should extend to certain characters one meets. If a player wants their male Shep to be with Kaidan in ME1/2/3, or have their fem Shep be with Jack in ME2/3, then you should let them. It's the player's game, no one else's. Give those players who want same-sex romances restored into the ME LE. Who cares what other players who frown upon it say. I sure don't care what people do, and this is coming from someone who is straight. I believe everyone should enjoy this wonderful series, including the LGBTQIA+ fans.

Mass Effect not only removed gay romances from it's first two games, but also removed even the ability for Male Shepards to identify as gay in their dialogues.
Yet they saw fit to include options to call Liara disgusting for having an attraction to Female Shepard in ME1. And included mocking rejections from same sex flirtations in ME2.
These poorly made decisions need to be rectified.

It was disheartening to hear that Jack’s femshep romance was cut late in development after being written as canonically pansexual. It was even more disheartening to discover that no plans were in place to restore the character to her original sexuality for the Legendary Edition release. You’re participating in the erasure of your characters’ true selves by not taking these steps.

This needs to be done! Liara can’t be the only lead female option for femshep

Being able to be with Kaidan for the whole trilogy as Mshep was the only thing I wanted from this Legendary Edition. I was crushed when I found out I couldn't.

Because it’s 2021. The audio files are there already. It’s really unbecoming of a company that made Dragon Age with full same-sex partners throughout the games to only allow straight male centric views on gayness, I.e. lesbianism is okay but other than that, it’s a no go for us. You show sex in the game (briefly) but you can’t have the gay men that play your game have something to be on next to as well until the third game? It’s despicable and one of the reasons why I left the game for so many years. Bringing this back with bring way more fans to the company and drive up sales I mean come on. Also I mean like...it’s 2021. Act like it.

Implement a same sex romance option for Kaidan in ME1. Use the recorded voice lines and make it work please.

What year is this again? I think alone the reason of upsetting the far right media FOX NEWS should this decision be corrected.

Mass Effect is all about choice. It’s all about making your Shepard your own. To that end, it’s incredibly important for players to have the option to romance characters of the same gender starting from mass effect 1 (specifically, male Shepard and Kaiden but if the option exists to Ashley and female Shepard then this too should exist) rather than forcing players to wait until mass effect 3. It does feel odd that this option remains cut from the game despite the dialogue existing.

Modders have done it for the standard editions. The actual company has less than no excuse.

Considering the benchmark for the remaster was a lot of the mods, I don’t understand why they couldn’t incorporate the same sex options in ME1 as it was in the codes.

"In total, 14 males and 23 females can be romanced in the entirety of the Mass Effect franchise. Of those amounts, gay males can access 35% of the male population, gay females can romance 61% of females and straight females can connect with 83% of males. Straight males can almost sleep with everyone, offered up a whopping 91% of females.
More damning is the amount of squad members gay males can sleep with: two. Mass Effect 3’s Kaidan Alenko and Andromeda‘s Jaal are the only romance options that can be taken on missions alongside your player-character. Of all characters straight men can romance, 76% can be taken on missions, compared to 50% for gay females and 92% for straight females."
They could have change this easily but they choose to stay the same for the sake of "nostalgia" (like we don't have easy mods for this out there). Gay men are always discreetly shelved by the Bioware team. I sincerely hope that they correct this in Mass Effect 4.
