The Coalition Against Marlins Bailout is against the Baseball Stadium Agreements that will be voted on by the City of Miami Commission on Thursday, March 19th and by the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners on Monday, March 23rd. Our Coalition of community organizations and citizens is resolved to fight against what we believe is an irresponsible business deal that has been negotiated by our County government on our behalf. These negotiations were held behind closed doors with little to no transparency and the bottom line is that the "deal" is bad for the taxpayers of Miami-Dade County. We realize that many of us like baseball. However, we also know that most of us are not in favor of corporate welfare. This is not a choice of whether we like baseball or not. This is a choice of what is best for our entire community. The Baseball Stadium Agreements that were drafted by the Marlins attorneys with taxpayer dollars are completely one-sided in favor of a private, for-profit business. If you have had enough of this kind of corporate welfare let your voice be heard and sign this petition!
We are currently preparing a formal letter to present at the upcoming County Commission meeting to document our objections to the stadium agreements. Local journalists have begun requesting interviews regarding the lack of transparency in these contract negotiations.

Enough with the corporate handouts. Use our tax money for schools and roads instead of a stadium for millionaires.

They said they would pay for it themselves back when the stadium was being talked about. Now they want a bailout. Liars.

RIDICULOUS. Why are we paying for a private business to get rich while we pay higher taxes. SHAMEFUL.

Total scam. Stop wasting our money on this stadium deal when the city is struggling to pay for actual services.
