Hello, my fellow 1L students, I am running for Vice President. As we start our transition into law school we are faced with the difficulties of being uncomfortable. Many of us are having trouble finding support, and a sense of belonging within our law school. Our 1L year is a year that will help define our law school career. I am hoping to make the transition easier for everyone within our class by working with the other members of the SBA to ensure that any difficulties you have will be addressed and hopefully solved. I want the members of our 1L class to not only grow as lawyers but grow as individuals. If elected I am hoping to help plan and organize events for our 1L class to attend in order to get to know each other and network! Some of my ideas include attending sports games such as the home games of the Detroit Lions as well as the Detroit Pistons. These tickets would be subsidized as I will work with the SBA as well as the teams themselves to receive a discount for these tickets in order to make it affordable to the entire 1L class! I want the stress of law school to dissipate through the comfort of community. As your Vice President, I will ensure that we as a 1L class will change the narrative of 1L being the most stressful year of our law school career, and create the narrative of one of the most enjoyable years of our lives!
