**UPDATE: http://wethestudentsdpu.blogspot.com/

If you haven't read & signed this petition, please see below:

RESOLVED, that the Student Bar Association at DePaul University College of Law is a body elected by the students as their representatives with the authority to make all decisions regarding how our student fees are allocated. Facts: - The SBA controls over $40,000 of our money each year. Because of a lack of transparency in the allocation decisions, we don’t know how that money is spent. - Each year, we the students elect representatives to act on our behalf to represent our interests in all Student Bar Association matters. However, once there, these elected officials vote as individuals, not representatives who have our interests in mind. THEREFORE, we the students MANDATE that the incoming SBA reform the constitution and otherwise take concrete action to resolve these systematic failures and other student concerns in a collaborative way. If you support the goals of this referendum, sign below.

Updates

April 14, 2010

I have been reading through the messages you all are sending and the stories of frustration really show why this transparency issue matters so much. It is overwhelming to see so many of you stepping up to demand better from our representatives.

April 14, 2010

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you have stepped up to demand more from the SBA. This energy belongs to all of you who decided that transparency matters and I am just lucky to be part of what you are building.

The lack of transparency is honestly insane. We pay these fees to go to school here and deserve to know how every cent is being used.
