Manassas City Residents Plea For Tax Intermission!

Please consider our seniors that are on a fixed income. Even the slightest tax increase could mean the difference between paying taxes or purchasing medication. For once please consider the negative financial impacts on some of our most vulnerable citizens.

I oppose any tax increase. The public schools in Manassas City are one of the poorest performing schools in the region, yet the Manassas City council wants to raise taxes? There is no positive benefit for this tax increase. Find ways to cut spending vice increasing taxes.

As a City employee and a resident I urge the Council not to increase the taxes. The cost of living increase that I received does not cover the increase to my health insurance so in a sense my income was reduced. My family cannot afford an increase to our mortgage to pay a tax increase. Everything is increasing from the cost of food, gasoline, clothing, entertainment etc. I already bargain shop and have two jobs. I don’t know where else to make a cut in my budget in order to afford a tax increase.

No more taxes! Learn to budget more effectively. If you can't do this, then you need to (and probably will) be voted out.

No real reason for this...building new water treatment plants? Fire station was already funded. Tax those new high rise apartments fairly! Enforce pet-licenses. Identify personal property tax scofflaws; they are in the parking garages and on our neighborhood streets. Ticket cars without passes in the controlled parking lots and garage....on and on.

As we all know, this is an overkill. The City was once an affordable place to live and raise a small family, but the exorbitant tax increases has altered this. We have destroyed all of the green spaces and are on a building spree with schools and governmental buildings, such as police & fire. We need to vote all of you out of our city government, and get better representatives, who reflect the will of the citizenry.

PLEASE STOP THE TAX INCREASES NOW! We will have to move from the City of Manassas because we cannot pay the high real estate taxes. As senior citizens living on limited income it presents a very big struggle for us to pay our taxes and buy food.

Don’t raise our taxes until you ensure what you already take isn’t wasted.

The City needs to live within its means. You are driving middle class homeowners out of the City. Enough is enough.

It's hard to keep up with rising taxes and utilities when our household salary dosent keep rising fast enough to keep up with it.

Try spending within your means. If we can’t afford it don’t buy it. That’s what everyone else has to do.
