I live in Malta. I am disgusted by the lack of transparency on the part of the state troopers as well as the previous board of the Town of Malta. It’s nauseating to see one wooded plot after another cleared and obliterated.

I think we should sue on the basis of the cell tower being hazardous to our health, among other things.

Maybe whoever conceived this plan intended to help the police, but the choice of location is--not to tapdance around it--one of the dumbest decisions that could have been made. In addition to every other objection already made, the location isn't even close to ideal for the NYS Troopers themselves. Yet the people who had the power to do this and the power to stop it seem oddly, overly enamored with this scheme.

It's a damned shame that Governor Huchel does not respond or address the NYSP barracks relocation to 4 acres of treed land in Luther Forest. We for and support the NYS Police unlike other communities. We bleed blue but we also bleed green - the barrack can easily be relocated on many other 4 acre plots including those businesses who have offered to donate land for the barracks in commercial space. We in Malta would like to save the space from which the barracks is to be located but we don't want the building located there in the midst of a residential neighborhood! Governor Huchel please hear our pleas to Save - Luther-Forest in Malta, NY we are only 30 minutes from your mansion!

Stop the stupidity of trying to cut down these trees. Town residents opposed putting a firehouse in this location 10 years ago. Why are you trying to put the barracks here now other than the former council to state police wanted to give town land to them and convinced the board to go along with it. This was all done in the darkness of the Covid pandemic. This is disgraceful.

The barracks don't belong in a neighborhood area ruining the quality of life for residents, animals and destroying the forest. There are better options to locate it elsewhere in Malta.

I am not against the State Police being in Malta but the location in the midst of our neighborhood is not appropriate. This proposed site is one of the last forested areas in Luther Forest and the forest is why so many of us moved here. There are more viable locations available and the State and Town of Malta should pause this project until those other locations are considered.

The proposed site for the Malta State Police Barracks is not appropriate! There are other locations available. We have been appealing to the state over 1 year and we need to show our objection in large numbers. We have the support of Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner and several Malta Town Board Members to STOP THIS PROJECT IN THIS LOCATION! Please sign and let the NYSP & Governor know we do not want the Police Barracks on Dunning Street!
