PRIME MINISTER OF MALTA

ALL OUR MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT

Aqra bil-Malti Hawn

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1nSwOhcLr9h5Ptt...

So as to understand our pain , frustration and desperate cries for help for our loved ones-

They do not have a Voice ,

So we are here to Speak Up for them .

In Fond Memory of BEAR and all those who passed away cause of no 24/7 Animal Hospital in Malta.

THE ISSUE -

As a residents of Malta, our hearts are filled with pain on hearing the sad stories and tragic realities experienced by many pet owners who have sought medical care for their pet , especially during the night, Sundays or Feast days. This has happened to us too.

Knowing that your beloved animal is in desperate need of urgent care, showing clear signs of distress....

However, the necessary immediacy of help cannot be provided . Because a 24/7 service of an Animal Hospital in our country, is non-existent !

Panicked for our pets, or strays , in desperate need of urgent vet care, we start calling numbers. Some are unanswered . Clinics are closed. Mobiles are off. The situation is unbelievable. And a situation like this could and should have been prevented.

This is not only deeply tragic, but it is also completely unacceptable.

Our pets are not just animals; they are beloved members of our families deserving of empathy, care, and respect.

Research shows that prompt veterinary attention can significantly improve outcomes for sick or injured animals.

Pet owners, or animal lovers who care for stray animals, can share several personal experiences that delays in treatment can lead to serious consequences for the animals involved.

THE PEOPLE DEMAND -

A 24/7 Animal Hospital Now !

It must offer effective, timely, and dedicated , compassionate care to ensure the health and well-being of pets and stray animals alike.

Klikk on the link below to read the many many excuses Animal Welfare Triage gives for killing our poor animals instead of trying to save them !!

To ensure Animal Rights , we also propose that the shameful Triage agreement be abolished once and for all!

Aqra Bil-Malti hawn - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vDp1D258d17bZ0...

Removing the Triage shall pave the way for putting a Stop to killing an animal which can actually be saved.

WE ALSO PROPOSE THAT THE ANIMAL HOSPITAL SERVICE BILLS SHALL BE DISCOUNTED BY 50 % FOR THE FOLLOWING SECTORS :

●Pet owners with low incomes .

●Local Council Registered stray animal feeders .

●All registered Animal ngo’s who shelter animals in their care .

A system may easily be set up to make sure of Accountability for these services.

Let us remind the Government, that it was once a promise, that the Animal Hospital was going to be free for several sectors. So a 50% discharge to the above is a step in the right direction.

It shall show commitment from the Government that he truly believes in Animal Rights.

Studies reveal that lack of urgent adequate care can result in worsening conditions and even preventable fatalities, highlighting the urgent need for an Animal Hospital Now !

However, in our county , Animal Rights do not seem to be important for the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Rights.

Many are under the impression , that whilst the first 2 sectors are well cared for, as should be , by the Ministry, whilst Animal Rights in Malta are the least of his concerns!

Klikk on the link above and read these documents which clearly show that millions of €€€ are available when needed . SO LET US BRING MILLIONS ALSO FOR THE SERVICES OF A 24/7 ANIMAL HOSPITAL & SUBSIDIES.

We, the pet owners , stray animal carers, and animal lovers , refuse to remain silent in the face of abandonment of our beloved companions.

It is urgent and crucial that a professional 24/7 Animal Hospital service is provided at once !

We also demand immediate and meaningful changes at the Animal Welfare Department to improve animal care and ensure transparency so our stray animals receive the respect and compassion they deserve during their times of need.

The responsibility of animal owners is to be acknowledged even when the animal is taken to the Animal Hospital. Whether taken by the carer , pet owner or animal welfare after a call for help.

Secrecy on the updates of a stray animal’s well-being once taken by Animal Welfare should be banned.

We demand that the horrible TRIAGE AGREEMENT be abolished immediately. It is an excuse for Animal Welfare to KILL animals when they can actually be saved ! All this to not to spend money to medicate the animals !!
