Something needs to be done there has been so many accidents down that stretch of road including loosing a good friend mark so let's change it .

Let's hope we make a good enough point for people to listen. We can't bring mark unfortunately back but let's at least make our roads a safer place for the future.

Mark was taken unfortunately by a driver who had no consideration for other pedestrians. It's about a time that road had a speed camera because people simply use it as a race track. It didn't need a tragedy like this to occur for the council to wake up and realise we need a camera in force but let's hope now they will wake up and listen.

a very dangerous road that needs adapting to make safer, its too tragic that a young life is lost and this road needs to change to make sure no others lose their lives

I think all people pedestrians, cyclists and motorists need educating in road safety, there already is a crossing. I don't know the circumstances of the incident apart from the fatality.
There have been many fatal
Accidents in the area, Linton, A511 just recently. Drivers need to be aware of the consequences of their speed and surroundings but reducing the speed limit or putting road humps isn't the answer

The last thing needed in South Derbyshire is speed bumps there is all ready enough people complaining about them and the damage they do to there cars. Speed cameras won't work if you managed to get the speed limit down too 30 (which I doubt it) if some one walks out in front of you it will probably end up in the same sad result. Best option in my opinion is several traffic light crossings with cameras on top of them so you can actually see who the driver is if they break the law.
