Mortlake is dirty, dangerous as you can’t cross the road (Mortlake High St) easily, polluted and is no longer a joyful place to live. It’s horrendous. More disruption with traffic, people and construction activity is going to make it even worse. You can’t possibly agree to these plans with Hammersmith Bridge closed.

The proposed scheme is sheer madness, given all the environmental factors involved. Ever more traffic and pollution in an area that cannot cope with its existing levels.

We can’t let this monstrosity rise - our roads & services are stretched enough!

Mortlake traffic is gridlocked every weekend. We need less traffic, not more. The development is too crowded and the expensive car park will encourage too many cars.

Whilst I support a considered development incorporating a mix of housing types such a development needs infrastructure. The area cannot cope with the traffic such a high density development will add to the already grid locked roads. The closure of Hammersmith Bridge for the next few years will compound this issue. It is only since the involvement of the mayor's office that the housing density has increased and the plans for a nursing home have been scrapped. This does seem a very cynical move on behalf of the developers and I understand the plans do not meet current development guidelines.

This application is so greedy. With no regard for the view of the river. For the environment nor has it taken into account how very unpredictable the Thames is and how high the tides are going to become in the near future. This site has had a brewery for at least 400 yrs. I know time has moved on but this development could not be more greedy or ugly.

This proposal appears to place excessive demands on local infrastructure and will provide dwellings incompatible with true social cohesion. A more sympathetic upgrade must be urgently considered.

I support the need to provide housing within the London Boroughs including a good proportion of affordable units, but strongly believe the proposals here are too dense to be absorbed by the local environment and infrastructure successfully. Public transport including the railways are already at capacity (albeit not during the Covid 19 pandemic), the road network is now over burdened and a source of environmental damage to the area and the visual impact on the general townscape and character will be harmed due to the scale and height of the scheme. A good quality mixed-use development with accessible public realm to integrate into the local community is welcome but this is not achieved with this scheme trying to fit a quart into a pint pot.

the proposed development is totally inappropriate for the area, which is already crowded and traffic congested.

High rise buildings are unsuitable for Mortlake. We also need more affordable housing. But too much housing would cause traffic problems. The Maltings MUST be preserved.

Even when Hammersmith Bridge was open, the traffic by the Brewery was very heavy (as it acts as a rat-run for the South Circular). It makes no sense to saturate the Brewery site with too much housing (including high-rise).

This is literally and metaphorically monstrous.

Please consider the fact that the plans do not consider the effect of the height of the proposed buildings and the Lower Richmond Road alongside the site is already congested to the point that no vehicles can enter safely from the side roads at any time.

Whilst we need new housing, the provision should be not only be environmentally and visually appropriate. There are already too overdevelopments lining the Thames. It may not worry Vauxhall or Battersea but this overdevelopment is too out of scale inappropriate and traffic jamming for Mortlake, Barnes, East Sheen and the Borough of Richmond.

Concerned about the affect it would have on traffic which is already heavily congested.

I am worried about excessive burden on the local roads and other infrastructure and also about introducing construction far above the height of and out of character with other local structures.

What a beautiful building. It needs to be saved.
