There appears to have been no proper road transport feasability study to address this already congested area of London and nevermind the Mortlake Brewery development, you have Barnes Hospital and Homebase developments. Again no joined up consultation from Richmond Council re traffic congestion, overuse of Mortlake Station - nothing being done about Hammersmith Bridge - what does the Mayor think he is doing. There needs to be proper joined up thinking and consultation re this whole area please.

Mortlake and the surrounding areas are already heavily congested, regularly gridlocked and heavily polluted with traffic fumes. It is even worse now that Hammersmith Bridge has closed. The proposal to turn this development into 1252 units is ridiculous. Plans are already in place to develop what was previously Homebase into apartments. When will our voices be listened to and taken seriously. We all have grave concerns about this. Just to get out of Mortlake, Barnes or any of the surrounding areas takes three or 4 times longer. Where it used to take 2 or 3 minutes for my journey (on a motorbike) it now takes 20 minutes as its constantly gridlocked. Please take our concerns on board, come and visit the Area, speak to the local residents and see first hand what we are talking about. We hope you will reconsider, there is a reason that we have been petitioning for this not to go ahead for many many years. Thank you for listening. We do sincerely hope you will act on what the residents are saying.

The area is currently greatly congested with road traffic, this development would result in gridlock for large parts of the day. It is understood that Mortlake train station would frequently have to close as it would not be able to cope with the resultant increase in people arising. TfL has already said it has no plans to cope with the extra demand on its buses. The repair of Hammersmith Bridge must come before this crazy development is considered any further.

My poor area is gridlock with traffic what with Richmond Park closed to through traffic and Hammersmith Bridge closed. The area will not be able to cope. We are a small enclosed area with narrow streets with the park on one side and the river on the other.

Bad for infrastructure and the local population. Forget it. Another anti-local population plan like the Heathrow extension.

It’s quite unacceptable that the Mortlake Brewery Development should go ahead as planned without any consideration to the already inadequate transport infrastructure or the needs of the community for affordable family housing!

The area was already a traffic nightmare when Hammersmith Bridge was closed. To approve another 1252 homes is absurd in such circumstances

The local communicty and local people should take precedence over targets set in a globalized fashion. This project has become overdeveloped.

A ridiculously over-blown scheme in an already highly congested area of London.

Make them pay for a new Hammersmith Bridge. The increase in this development will make it overcrowded and that is what causes bad health, mental illness and covid to spread.

No decision should be taken on this until the funding for the repair of Hammersmith Bridge has been agreed..the area is too gridlocked. We do t need a developemnet like this...we should refurbish e isting buildings for affordable housing

The impact on the traffic in the area will be very damaging with so many more cars from these flats

This development has not been thought through in terms of the traffic which is already catastrophic. No progress should be made before Hammersmith bridge is rebuilt.

The scale of this development has had overwhelming opposition at every stage, no discussions between the developers and the community and it would smother the existing community rather than enhance it. With no Hammersmith Bridge either the construction traffic would literally kill an existing thriving and happy neighbourhood

This is utter madness especially given the current closure of Hammersmith Bridge and the misery, congestion and long journeys it’s closure is causing.
Also this does not provide affordable housing let alone social housing , which the city needs

the area has always been heavily congestion and is now more than ever with the closure of Hammersmith Bridge more traffic needed for the building and new people moving who will need schools and transport, the area will be nothing but a huge car park causing huge amount of enviromental damage

We need houses, not flats in the area.
The closure of Hammersmith Bridge is causing traffic chaos already and we don’t need more.
Anyone who travelled from Barnes to Richmond knows how busy this road is at the best of times. We don’t need further traffic to add to that.
