Mr Mayor, please stop this project in this already over congested area because of closure Hammersmith Bridge. The area does not need another school, houses and retail development. Chokers Corner, Mortlake, Sheen, Barnes can not take any more daily traffic, pollution, disruption and utter despair.

PLEASE come here and see for yourself how devastating this will be for the whole community. The closure of Hammersmith bridge has made the traffic situation on the lower richmond road and surrounding areas an absolute nightmare already. If the amount of new homes proposed are allowed to go ahead - No one will be able to get anywhere. Plus a new school that no one wants, or needs. Life here will be unbearable

Yet another totally inappropriate development simply to improve the Mayor's house-building statistics and put even more money into the pockets of greedy property developers.

More houses, more places of work, not offices or flats. Families need space not blocks and communal living.

The current plans are entirely inappropriate for the local area and will further overburden the existing infrastructure which is at crisis point.
With the long term closure of Hammersmith Bridge the situation is worsening particularly with the road infrastructure needed for both private and public transport which is already heavily congested. Other large developments have already been approved and this additional site will add more pressure which will be unmanageable.
The proposed new buildings are also out of keeping with the local area and in particular are far too tall.

As a resident in Barnes, this development will only make traffic congestion worse especially with no Hammersmith Bridge in the foreseeable future.

I cannot believe that this protect was even thought about. The traffic is constantly gridlocked outside the brewery so building 1242 units will put traffic at a standstill.I suggest the Mayor,if he can afford the time, should drive there at 5 pm.He’s been lax on doing anything about Hammersmith bridge and now he is lax again on approving this protect.

The road system cannot accommodate the extra traffic created, with resultant pollution and dangers to health of residents living nearby. All this on top of a lack of interest in rebuilding Hammersmith Bridge and the additional through traffic as a result of that failure.

As a resident of Mortlake High Street and lifetime resident of Mortlake, I urge the Mayor to listen to the community outcry and reject the current proposals for the Mortlake Brewery site. The current plans are entirely inappropriate and unsustainable for the small local area. The excessive number of housing units would place intolerable pressure on the already overburdened transport and parking infrastructure - already worsened by the Richmond Park and Hammersmith Bridge closures. Proposed building heights are excessive, would impact on an iconic listed building and are not in keeping with the surrounding area. If the mayor wants to improve his own figures for affordable housing he should have included the currently proposed percentage in the originally proposed number of homes, not added it on top. Perhaps he should seek to generate this affordable housing in an area larger than 4km that might be able to withstand it! The plans seem to me to be in the Mayor’s personal interest with total disregard to the interests and ongoing criticisms from the longstanding local community. This is further evident from the Richmond Homebase development forced through by the mayor against residents wishes! The Mayor of London’s purpose, as per the government website, is to ‘improve London for all’. With these plans he will be doing quite the opposite for the residents of Mortlake. The impact the plans will surely bring, devastatingly, cause me to question my future in the place I have lived and called my home for my entire life! Mortlake is one of London’s last remaining community-minded village-feel areas, to bulldoze that with the proposed development would be a tragedy.

The infrastructure in Mortlake is not sufficient for the immense size of this development. The Lower Mortlake Road between Chalkers Corner and the junction of Mortlake High Street is a single lane road - so you’re already forced to wait in the traffic turning right onto Chiswick Bridge when you want to turn left at Clifford Avenue, towards Richmond or to Kew. At the Mortlake High street end, when the level crossing is down, you’re forced to wait in the traffic towards Sheen Lane when you want to turn left onto the high street - frustrating already trying to get to my home that way. To add 1250 abodes to this would make living in Mortlake (as I have for 35 years) a living nightmare. With Richmond Park closed to traffic and Hammersmith Bridge closed for the foreseeable future the additional cars the development will bring to the area will undoubtedly bring the already squeezed traffic to a stand still on the high street. The emissions this would generate would be intolerable and a danger to the health of all residents! My grandson’s bedroom is on the high street and I can’t bear the thought of the health implications for him. Parking in Mortlake is already overstretched and often I am forced to circle the side streets in search of a space to park miles from my house. With the hugely insufficient parking capacity planned for the huge number of homes within the development this will become impossible. If the mayor wants 40% more affordable housing, to facilitate his statistics, it should have been included in the originally planned 813 homes. An area as small as Mortlake will not be able to cope with the sheer number of additional residents 1250 abodes will bring. The dynamic of the area will be changed forever for the worse.
