Are you a student who has had to make up gym for missing for a Varsity Sport? Are you a parent wondering why your childs grade is so low in gym? Do you want change? My name is Jordan Emely and my proposal is not to eliminate Physical Education for Student Athletes but to have excused absences for those who leave early for Varsity Athletics causing them to miss phys. ed.
I am currently gathering data on how many athletes are penalized for missing class due to games. Email your coach today and ask them to send a formal statement to the athletic director in support of our proposal.

The momentum behind this change proves that athletes are tired of being penalized for their commitment to our school teams. Post this link on your Facebook wall today and tag your athletic director to keep the pressure on. Send an email to your local board representative asking them to address this double standard immediately.

My swim practice is way harder than walking laps in the gym. Why do I have to come in early before school to make up time i missed for a meet? Makes zero sense.

I play soccer and basketball so im basically at school until 6pm every night. Taking gym on top of that is just overkill and it hurts my gpa.

Any athlete completes more activity in a sports season than they do during the required gym class. Why should student athletes be penalized for participating in a school sport? I think the minimum that should be done is to have the student's absense for a game be excused. Personally I think with the amount of time the athletes put in, they should be exempt for gym as long as they are involved in a sport.

This has upset me for so long! Advisors have kids who play varsity sports switch classes around so they don't have physical education at end of day and instead have academic classes that don't need to be made up like physics as last class! I think if you play a sport you shouldn't even have to take gym but this is a start.

I missed so much gym due to track season and it was ridiculous that I had to make it up
