ME is not only effecting Female and Young.
I am 70 years old Male , and have had ME since 1995 after a serious bout with Flu. I am university engineering graduate, was very active in competitive sport, president of a wining football club in our university ( So not typical of what you may picture an ME patient to be). I ran and managed a very physically demanding business for 28 years. I was able to ignore my symptoms initially, able to push on. But after 2002 I was no longer able to ignore ever worsening painful condition; including much muscular pain, serious intestinal conditions, unable to sleep, cognitive problems, etc... I have tried many doctors and "specialists", who at best helped with some symptoms off and on. I have been an avid reader and "student" of FM/ME trying anything available. I have spent literally thousands of dollars in search for a legitimate and lasting remedy. Occasionally somethings helped, but not for long.
I have heard of AMPLIGEN, know some about it, but never tried it since it is not available to me, as my doctor is not able to prescribe it.
I would like to see this Med. be available to try.
Sincerely,
Henry Badal

I went on an Ampligen trial in 2004. I had been bedridden for four years and was so sick that my doctor thought I may not make it. By 2005 I was not only out of bed, but able to walk around all day. I was about to return to University when the trial ended. I relapsed after that, although I believe the good effects of the Ampligen lasted for another five years. Since then I have slid back to being housebound and very physically limited. I am desperate to get back on Ampligen again.

I have had ME for many years and never been offered Ampligen or any other medical help. If it works, why not give it to those who need it?

There are no effective treatments currently available in Ireland for this horrendous and debilitating illness.

This is disgraceful. Shame on our government and health minister.
Allowing people to suffer to that extent when there's a drug that would help them is inhumane and immoral.
To do it to children is unforgivable.
Get that drug and give it to those ME patients.
That is all
