Please start to enforce laws against those living in their vehicles, leaving behind them human waste and debris. It's absolutely sad that my family is considering moving because Ballard has lot any charm it ever had. Taking my newborn daughter and seeing a grown adult urinate openly with no shame in a sidewalk is embarrassing.

That may have been the case at one point, but we're now a nation of "social justice", which means those of us who actually produce and contribute need to check our privilege, because the true victims are actually the criminals. Crime is justice, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength.

We live in a nation that claims to be color blind and class blind, freedom for all. But that also means the rules apply to everyone equally. I don't understand why the police are not doing anything about all this neighborhood crime--isn't that what the police are for?

Members of my Gilman Park neighborhood watch group in Ballard have been complaining about increasing drug and theft crimes for years. These complaints have gone unheeded and the frequency and severity of the crimes has escalated over time. I have personally been threatened multiple times with physical assault, in the middle of the day in my neighborhood park and on the residential streets of Ballard. I called 911 every time. The cops actually showed up only once - even though I told the operator that the threats included shooting me or shooting my dog. All of these threats were made unprovoked by homeless men, some obviously impaired by drugs or alcohol. Clearly I have not been safe walking my dog during the day time. I dare not walk her after dark. Enough is enough!

I've seen statistics that our police force is not growing with the increase of our population density. We need to put more of our budget into the police force so that we don't overwork our current force; and provide better coverage for the taxpayers.

This is an issue that has continued for far too long! Law enforcement claims there is nothing they can do about these illegal activities. I have heard them say they are literally helpless at countless Neighborhood Watch meetings. That response is simply no longer acceptable.

Please help the Ballard and Thorndyke neighbors. It has become quite difficult for families and businesses in those neighborhoods. Thank you, Linda

I am concerned about the ever increasing RV's parked at the BNSF railroad yard and the issues they bring! our condo parking garage was broken into and household items were stolen from storage units. I suspect the RV occupants. Thank you.

My neighbor hood is being destroyed by homeless criminals, hard drug use, human feces, rampant theft, and trash. This has to stop!

This is also a growing problem in the Greenwood and Greenlake neighborhoods.

Greenlake/Phinney area. Same problems. Increase in crime, decrease in police response. Mayor and council must increase response for all criminal activites and increase the number of police patroling the neighborhoods.

Thank you so much for putting this together. It has turned from a nuisance, to an extreme problem that gets worse by the week.

I think there needs to be some more thought put into the homeless issues that are occurring beyond moving them to parks in Ballard.

This situation is getting out of control and the Mayor and his policies are enabling it! Please help us make our neighborhoods safe again!

Aggressive policing is what is needed in Ballard, for sure.

*To: Lani Roth- your comment is perfect and right on! Our government is NOT taking care of TAX PAYING citizens. Instead they prefer to let our neighborhood become more UNSAFE with their poor decisions. Now they will again raise our property tax before getting rid of this insidious crime ridden problem? * Where is our vote for these slums moving to our neighborhoods and the horrible illegally parked cars and vans?... Get ride of these drug addicts and stop subsidizing them at the tx payers expense and risk of Life and property!! This "mayor" and city "council"? Must GO!

I live on Capitol Hill and travel to these other neighborhoods often. All Neighborhoods of Seattle need attention! Our city is rapidly declining.

MAGNOLIA IS NO LONGER A SAFE HAVEN TO RAISE KIDS, THE BEACH HAS BECOME A HAVEN FOR THE "CAMPERS" WHO ARE SKETCHY AND DRUG FUELED.
