The mayor's office and the city council have lost control, and have created a volatile situation. Seattle has become a litter filled dump with rampant homelessness and drug use. We want a change, and we want it now.

We have seen a sharp increase in public drug activity (street sales) recently in the Ballard area. Additional patrols, lowering response times and walking the beat would help.

I am very disturbed and disheartened by the lax policies that has caused many of our neighborhoods to have more instances of crime as well as blight. I

we need more police presence and enforcement loitering laws. House the homeless, but deal with drugged and the mentally ill who act out.

The time for excuses has past. The time for action is now. We expect our elected officials to preserve and protect the safety and rights if the citizens they serve. We are holding you officials accountable and responsible. And we will not be ignored.

Mayor Murray,
Enough is enough !
Seattle is not safe in our neighborhood, Queen Anne and Magnolia pay a lot of property tax and we are getting nothing! One policeman for both neighborhoods.
Every day for the past few months there have been 4-5 residential burglaries just in Queen Anne and Magnolia !
How about taking some of the $40 million on homelessness and hiring some more police.

The police don't care. Anytime I have called 911 or the North Precinct they have been extremely rude and careless. Time for them to actually DO SOMETHING.

I have lived in Whittier Heights since 1978 and crime has never been worse. I am seriously considering moving due to this safety problem in our neighborhood.

We've owned our Sunset Hill home since 2006, and experienced no crime for the first 8 years. But in 2015, we've had two home break-in attempts, our car was stolen 3 months ago, and our car window was smashed last month. No apparent increases in patrols.

I live on Magnolia, pay my property taxes and in the past year have had my home broken into at night and my cars broken into.
I don't feel safe now riding my bike to the Myrtle Edwards park because of having to go under the Magnolia bridge with all of the illegal encampments .
I hardly recognize Seattle these days.

The city did a great job this spring/summer in conducting emphasis patrols to force "repeat offender" drug dealers & associated issues out of the Downtown cooridor. Unfortunately, those folks moved a few miles north to an area with more places to conceal activity and much less police presence. Couple this with an overall explosion of the chronic homeless population (tent encampments, bikee chop shops, etc.), and then add the new Nicklesville in downtown Ballard (some friendly chronic homeless, and perhaps a few with serious issues who are not getting needed services for mental illness, addiction, etc.) and it has created somewhat of a perfect storm, with lots of places to point fingers. Rather than blame, however, we'd appreciate it if we could at least START by addressing the criminal aspects--thefts and drugs would be a start--as the City tries to figure out how to address the overall societal issue. Keep us safe, please!

One of our cars has been broken into twice. There is talk of hiring private security. I think our elected officials and police service are failing us.

We have noticed a significant increase in concerning activity in East Magnolia.
