Our current police force seems to be overburdened because there aren't enough patrol officers. This can't be good for anyone.

I'm from the Phinney neighborhood and we also are seeing a rise in neighborhood crime. We are growing too rapidly and displacing people from their homes and sense of belonging. It's not simply a matter of better resourcing of police, but higher investment in homelessness, addiction, and low-income housing.

Crime is skyrocketing in Ballard, yet I never see police patrolling. The size of our police force is not keeping up with the pace of growth.

Car prowls occur weekly. Package theft is common - especially by one well known, identified woman. With SPD staffing levels, these property crimes fall off the priority list and receive no response. The city needs to address this promptly.

In the last 15 years of living in Seattle I have never seen so much crime in my neighborhood. I have also had bikes stolen multiple broken cars and an interaction with people in the process of stealing and can tell you it's literally ongoing everyday. Another issue are the people taking up residence in RVs and in foreclosed properties in the neighborhood. Please help make our neighborhood safe again.

My concern is the crime that flows from the RVs, the trash in the area, and that since this has been left unchecked by the city via policy from the mayor, the number of RVs has increased to unmanageable proportions. Before, one or two would be present. Now, there are up to twenty at any given time. A virtual city of broken down vehicles that when abandoned, the city will have to pick up the bill to remove. We need to enforce on the front end to prevent a situation the city will not be able to manage as the numbers increase.

We need to feel like we matter to the city of Seattle. Our calls for help often go unanswered and that is unacceptable.

Ballard resident. Multiple incidents of stolen mail and packages; cars broken into multiple times. We need more patrols and better response time.

We have had car windows smashed, landscaped lights, a trailer hitch off the back of the car, & landscape decorations stolen, motorcycle knocked over. Neighbors cars on all side vandalized. We need some police presence as a deterrent

PLEASE enforce the anti-camping laws for our parks and public spaces. Illegal tent-campers have committed public urination/defecation/masturbation, assault, thefts and even murder (under the Magnolia & Ballard Bridges). RV residents are making and selling drugs, and leaving used needles. Please enforce not only the acute crimes (drug sales, public nuisances) but the "passive" illegality of camping, long-term parking and hoarding that are a public health hazard and monopolization of our public spaces. The homeless should be given options, but NOT a free pass to ignore community laws.

The neighborhood has changed so much around the Ballard Commons Park since I moved here 5 years ago. I don't like walking around here anymore.

40 years of promises to do this Seattle. Enough!
