It’s mind blowing how lax the security is in a city the size of seattle! It is the governments duty to protect its citizens!! We need to fund the cops to make the streets safer!

Our concerns are legitimate, Mayor Ed Murray. Please stop calling it hysteria. Gaslighting doesn't become you.

If the city treat everyone fairly, with basic human rights and with compassion (SPD aren't going to do this for us - they're severely lacking in reputable caring staff) , this wouldn't be an issue at all.... people wouldn't be forced to rob or steal, be put in intolerable positions to support their families.. it's absurd and this problem existed LONG before our current mayor took office... WHY DIDN'T ANYONE NOTICE THEN??? THE PEOPLE THAT BLAME OUR CURRENT MAYOR ARE CLUELESS?????

My apartment building's parking garage was broken into twice in the past week. The first time they stole objects around the garage. The second time they broke windows on 2 cars and stole items from inside. It is quite possible that this is linked to the RVs and Vans that park nearby on Phinney Ave North at 57th street.

Greenwood should be added to the list.

Seattle is an embarrassment. The city is now a wretched dump because of the homeless problem. The mayor should resign.

It's appalling. My Ballard business has been surrounded by encampments for months. They shoot up on our front steps and defecate on our property nightly. The city wouldn't let this continue in front of Nordstrom!!!!!

Green lake should be added as well

We need to add Greenlake neighborhood to this also. With parking getting scarce I find I have to walk further, and at night/alone sometimes I drive around and if no "safe" space can be found I go home. Our city should be safe enough for a woman to walk to her car at night.

People the Murray the "Mayor"? for being at "whenever" sucking his booze or other "thing"s . WHAT are these people defending? a "MAYOR" THAT DOES NOT FIX ANYTHING!! JUST CONTINUING TO BRING IN CRIMINALS TO RUIN OUR NEIGHBORHOODS!! ASK HIM & "THOSE PEOPLE" TO "PICK UP THE NEEDLES" DROPPED!!! HE ONLY ADDS TO CRIME IN THIS CITY!!!

clean it up! Magnolia deserves better than the homeless crap that is taking place under a mayor that would rather throw money at the problem than take a hard line stance of no RV parking in neighborhoods ....take a lead from the cities that have curbed this problem for good.. Rv lots and homeless tent cities only give these people a safe haven in the city...PUSH THEM OUT!

Tired of being afraid to walk down my own streets, can't even walk into a grocery store without worrying about being robbed. Enough is enough Seattle!

I volunteer weekly working at a free lunch for the homeless. I maintain, there is no excuse for allowing the crime that has become increasingly worse over the last 10 years. Our city has been hijacked. The current policies towards homelessness are not working, but making the situation worse. You need to consult Salt Lake City to see how they have successfully handled the problem.
