Expand Junior & Senior Division Field Sizes at Pokémon International Championships to Foster Equitable Opportunities for Kids!

Junior and senior players should be the priority.

There were NEW local seniors that missed out playing due to the cap. We are trying to build the up and coming Pokemon community. Having caps at large scale events inhibits this

Pokémon rallies around the emphasis that the game is for children, yet constantly make it as difficult as possible for children to compete

Please make regional and international field sizes bigger for junior and senior tcg players

Please increase more possible capacity across all divisions

Make the junior and senior fields in major events unlimited

Juniors and seniors of the future of Pokemon and PTCI should Support their growth and development by expanding the allocation of seats at these Events. As parents we have to travel with our kids increasing the cost of attending such events and in some cases take kids out of school. Not being able to register When flights have been booked is a costly exercise. With the change in structure for world qualification limiting the participation for our children to qualify for these events further tracks from investing in the youth and the development and growth of the game

Pokémon TCG has been such a great community for children with all abilities and disabilities. This year, it’s becoming so difficult to participate and enjoy events due to capping and distances required to travel. Surely the future of Pokemon needs the interest and love of playing TCG in seniors and juniors to continue to grow for the future. Capping and the current point system is turning a generation of TCG players (and parents) away due to the elitism the game now demands. Let’s encourage juniors and senior TCG players and grow the Pokemon community for now and the future.

The numbers for Jr/Sr slots for ICs and Regionals has been in the same range since my son was in those age divisions pre COVID. We've been in the community since 2013

It is heartbreaking that world's is so tough to get into as it is this year. Then it is almost impossible to get a seat at an international unless you are already well on your way or already have your invite and got special registration. Please let the kids play! This is a kids game after all. Without the seniors where will your masters come from? If it is about money. Then charge the seniors the same as the masters and let them fill the seats!

The future of Pokemon depends on its younger audience. I was my son's age when the Pokemon Trading Card Game released, and it is amazing to see Samuel (pictured) share the same excitement for Pokemon that I had as a kid. When I got Samuel involved in tournaments, I noticed the players were overwhelmingly made up of adults. Pokemon bases its Championship field sizes on demand, and typically restricts the attendance of its Junior and Senior divisions to one tenth the size of Masters (adults). NAIC and EUIC are perfect examples, even though they always fill up in minutes for Juniors, Seniors and Masters divisions. At the 2024 European International Championships, Pokemon capped the adult division at 2600 players, while capping the Junior and Senior Divisions at 200 players. In my opinion, this is discriminatory and non-inclusive to Pokemon's younger core audience. It is also very short-sighted from a business perspective, considering many of those 2600 adults playing became involved as children.
