Make Pennsylvania Avenue Safer: Reduce the School-Zone Speed to 15 MPH

The speed limit needs lowered or a light

100% support and agree this needs addressed- why does the state continually neglect and disregard our communities and populations who need it most?

It's needed fixed for a long time. Get it done before someone's kid gets hit!!

This area has always been bad during school times. Seen multiple accidents, and have almost been the one in an accident. Something needs to be done asap , no only to prevent wrecks, but make it safer for our kiddos in school and daycare.

My wife drives our daughter to school right here, she’s almost been hit a few times. People really need to pay attention. Especially where children are.

I truly believe something does need to be done here. I attended school and seen a lot of wrecks. My daughter now attends that school and we’ve witnessed a wreck after school pickup.

Road is very dangerous. All the way up Rt 119/Pennsylvania Avenue. Also on same road T Mink Shoals at Shoals Elementary. I live right here nxt to school and witness it everyday. I have asked Kanawha County Sheriff Department to set on my property during School hours and especially I the morning when they arrive or afternoon when they go home. They fly through here. Constantly blowing horns while sitting in traffic Every Day

This road needs to be safer for kids!

There is no one running that late that they need to risk a life for what, less than a quarter mile? Maybe a flashing caution a little further away on both sides?

This area is highly dangerous with the current set speeds. 30mph with school zone lights and 45mph without them. A daycare center sits on this main road with small children being transported to/from (cars trying to pull in and out of the facility with small children), buses letting children off at the center, and the entrance road to Elk Elementary Center is here as well with small children being transported to/from school. So many wrecks have happened here and a change needs made before the unthinkable happens and a child is hurt or a life is lost due to the current speed limits. We need to lower the speed zones and make this section of the road safer!!

Please adjust the speed limit during drop off and pick up hours for this area. As a parent of former attendees of this daycare, I can attest to the dangers that exist trying to exit the parking lot.

I've lived in Charleston my entire life and feel the speed should be lower through the straight stretch before the school are too. My daughter went to daycare there and I've always slowed down around the stores just before the road goes uphill.
