Edina residents are generally educated and conscientious people. It's an insult to make such a program mandatory.

I used to put my scraps in our composter but the squirrels decorated our trees with grapefruit rinds and banana peels. Also attracted raccoon and had dog and raccoon fights at night in the back yards. Were are the bags you use going to be obtained? We really need another person at City Hall to do what? Don't have a place for another can!!!!

This type of recycling only attracts pests and rodents. I would prefer not taking part in it.

I didn't know this was being considered. I have no room for another waste container and do not want to pay for it. My yard waste container accepts organic waste all year. I WILL NOT use the new container.

Effective Organics recycling is much more difficult than it seems. If non-organic materials (like metal, plastic, glass, etc.) get mixed in with the organics it can contaminate the entire load. Minneapolis requires organic recycling and much of it ends up in a landfill due to contamination. If people want to recycle their organics that’s fine, but don’t make it mandatory.

We need a list of people coming up for re election, and bureaucrats that need replacement.
