An effort is afoot to establish a no motor area off Port Antigua and White Marlin beaches. Owners of beachfront homes are unhappy with the occasional crowds enjoying the waters adjacent to their homes.
They are pressuring local Village of Islamorada council members to close the area to motor operations, forcing residents to swim in to the shallow areas from over 6 feet of water instead of being able to anchor their boats in walkable depths.
Please sign this petition to let the Village council know you DON'T want this change!
ALSO: very important! Please email your Council and let them know what you think. They are acting on the requests of a small group of vocal constituents that want the beach closed to boats.
