Make Malaysian airsoft a legal and supervised recreational activity

Gain interest in the sport and wanted to participate but well, now we can't really own a Airsoft then what's the point

Without a real gun is okey but airsoft sport is my hobby and having this sport in my life is my dream

If you are afraid people will rob bank or threaten others with these guns, just give the police or any authorised personnel permission to shoot to kill when someone is using this in public, because responsible airsofters who love the sport will not do something that will harm the image of airsports.

I truly understand that airsoft guns are looking like real guns and that it would be difficult for the government to differentiate between a real gun or a play gun during import into the country. The government could issue a permit for a trusted company to import and trade airsoft guns to the fellow airsoft enthusiasts, while importing or buying of online airsoft guns by anyone should be banned. Thus, airsoft enthusiast should only buy their airsoft guns from the local company in Malaysia. This is an awesome sports for the youngsters to get in to and stay physically and mentally healthy.

I understand the concern regarding the life-like appearance of the airsoft gun, but it won't do any harm in the long run. Considering the fact that it was virtually impossible for a legal gun owner (airsoft/real) to exist in Malaysia due to our draconian law, it is logical to assume that gun-related crime would decreas. However, that was far from the truth. Everyday, contraband was smuggled into Malaysia for criminals use. If that doesn't happen, the criminals would built their own weapons like how the Vietnamese did during the Vietnam War. Either case, both civilians and police would still be in danger. Banning what's possibly be a toy was not the issue here. Airsoft is not the issue, illegal smuggling is the problem. Enforce the existing law first, adding another inane ban is not the solution.
