I think this is a good way to prevent more accidents should a rider be left no other option but to react and move through the traffic. Braking hard if traffic suddenly stops can lock up the back tire and cause an accident if a motorcycle doesn't have and

It doesn't deserve a knee jerk reaction that legislators give it. It's demonstrably safer and needs to be implemented to protect motorcycle riders.

As a motorcycle rider I always see car driver on their phones and this will make it impossible for me to get rear ended as long as like all riding done within your skill level never try to ride past your skill level your friends will wait for you i promise or else they aren't your friends

Just do it already. The rest of the world has already figured it out.

If you have ever sat in traffic on a motorcycle in 105 degree heat unable to get shade and having a leather jacket on then you know why we need lane splitting or sitting at the end of an offramp waiting for someone to pancake you into the next car

The is some really bad traffic ok the freeway on my daily commute from salt lake to Provo pretty much every day and since it's during rush hour traffic in the morning and afternoon everyday, not being able to lane split makes it harder for me to get to work when I could be squeezing between traffic at slow speeds. Lane splitting is fine al as long as the driver is being cautious and alert while doing this action.

I was recently in an unfortunate situation where my lack of vision to the roadway ahead stopped at a light and the combination of having too much acceleration not allowing a safe cushion of space and the people ahead of me having stopped suddenly almost seriously injured me. where I could have been several lengths ahead and safely traversed traffic with higher agility and acceleration, having been allowed to sit between cars in the front at a red, I was sited for following too closely. but when somebody decelerates 30 mph in 3 seconds while I'm preforming head checks anybody would have been considered too close. People who are concerned about the safety are the people who's lives aren't Threatened on the roadway

I would love to introduce lane splitting to utah, it is more safe and reduces traffic. Those of you how don't ride bikes need to see it from our perspective.

Look to the statistics and it's obvious how good of an option this is for everybody. We need more backing for the next time this bill goes to the house of representatives.

With more and more vehicles on the road plus the added threat of preoccupied(cell phones, make up, headphones, drowsy drivers etc) drivers, I feel that it is in every motorcyclists best interest to use their better judgement when it comes lane splitting. I feel much safer in front of cars that have exhibited potentially dangerous conditions for my life and that of my passenger. If that means I to land split to protect our lives them I think that should be up to me... The operator. I commute year round on my motorcycle and encounter distracted drivers daily...I honestly feel that I'm still alive because I have chose to be an assertive rider. I'd I don't feel safe, I exercise my escapes for all of our safety. I suppose there is a time and place for everything...I think now is the time to allow every motorcyclist the option to decide for themselves if they feel safer with their/our lives in our own hands or the hands of someone talking on their cell phone.

I have rode extensively in California splitting Lanes it is I feel the sensual especially during the summer when it's so hot to sit there your bike overheats and you overheat it's about time Utah got to the 20th century

All one has to do is look to California for the statistics of lane splitting and the benefits it offers. They outweigh the negatives to all motorists.
