I don't think it should be a nationwide ban. They're literally illegal in northern states like New England, the Midwest, AND ALASKA where they could never become invasive.
It's a state matter. Fine, ban them in Florida. Fine, ban them in California. Fine, ban them in Hawaii.

Many other creature species ARE legal that could easily be invasive, yet aren’t because generally speaking, people who care for exotics are responsible and would literally never release their pet, its family. So why not allow us these babies too?
