This should be a requirement (law) nationwide.

Over the years we have witnessed far too many individuals trying to pass off a family pet as a 'service' or an 'emotional needs' animal. They buy phony vests and documents (no questions asked) online and bring their pets everywhere. Rep. Ferguson's bill will go a long way in curbing these blatant abuses.
Thank you, Ed & Louise Meyer

Service animals deserve the highest respect for what they do. People who travel with ill-behaved imposters deserve to be heavily-fined. Perhaps a national registry of genuine service animals would allow these imposters to be weeded out.

Please support this petition. I have been involved with the NEADS program for some years and true, professionally trained assistance dogs are a wonder to see and help enriched the lives of their client as well as society. Imitation assistance dogs are not only an insult but potentially a danger.

Please consider the handicapped person these wonderful dogs serve. These non-trained, so called, service dogs do not behave properly and therefore can be a threat to the public. A properly trained service dog NEVER misbehaves. I speak from experience

When people misrepresent a pet as a "service animal", and that pet misbehaves, it puts everyone with a legitimate, trained service animal at risk!

This is quite important. I've seen several apparent service dog counterfeits and it is quite disturbing and disrespectful.

Fake service animals are not harmless. They create problems that disourage access for real service dogs.

I support this bill! Service animals have the important role of ensuring their owner’s safety and health. A pet is not a trained service animal and it may behave unexpectedly, which could jeopardize the safety of all. Misrepresenting pets as service animals should have consequences!
