It is unbelievable that anyone would misrepresent any proper training in a companion / service pet.

I'm really glad to see this initiative. I worked with a service animal agency many years ago so I fully understand the problem.

I am appalled by how often I see "fake" emotional support dogs. Usually, the dogs haven't been trained at all, and the owners make no effort to do so. Please create some clear cut requirements for a dog to receive special "clearance" in places of business and public buildings like schools, hospitals etc.

This is critically important to those who are fortunate enough to have a legitimate service dog. It's unethical, unfair and utterly selfish to misrepresent an animal as 'trained' when they are not!

My professionally trained service dog has been threatened by an aggressive dog that a person claimed was a "part service dog, part attack dog." These incidents took place inside a college building when the other dog's handler was unable to control him and he slipped out of his collar. If campus security had not been close by, I have no doubts that my service dog and/or myself would have been injured.
Wish people would respect the needs of others and not always be trying to pull a scam. Shame on them.

I have a service dog from NEADS that is a tremendous help to me. We encountered a fake service dog recently at a local hospital in the city. All it did was bark and growl at my service dog and reeked havoc while we were trying to get through the doors. The security guard had to remove that team before we could leave. But we did get complaints on how well my service dog behaved as he did not react to the fake one. I truly support this bill. Not only for NEADS but for other smaller organizations around the state that trains services dogs for the disabled and or veterans. It is so important to get the fake service dogs under control as they are ruining for the legitimate service dogs. It's too bad it has come to this that a bill has to be established and brought forth to become law. Also the internet that lure people to buy the vests, equipment and so called registration so that they can use to make their untrained dogs service dogs. That's an illegal problem to stop.

I'm a concerned mother of s child on the spectrum. We are curentky awaiting our properly trained service dog. Passing this bill is important to us, as the people who try to pass off a fake service dog make it harder for social acceptance and understanding of the true reasoning of a service dog for the disabled.

As usual in the society we live in now, people take advantage of a good thing and ruin it for those who really need it.

So glad that the NH bill, now law, that my NEADS dog and I wrote and had sponsored for us, may have helped this bill come about.
