Make Eldora Safe for Kids

Absolutely, I've also taken my grandkids on the chairlift and often felt safety wasn't a priority there.

Should be both - riding with an adult on a lift with a bar!!

I have not been to Eldora myself yet, however of course there should be an adult with a young child on a lift. I would think safety bars would be the safety standard no matter where you ski. I’m 37 years old and still a beginner myself, so yes, I definitely agree with changing those rules immediately!

We ride the older lifts with our little ones (since that is the only option to access the green runs) and always hold onto them the entire way up. We don't feel safe with them on there, even those with the bar as I feel like they could easily slide underneath and its SO windy all the time. I can't imagine putting them on there on their own. For that reason we will be looking at other mountains next year when we plan to put them in a ski program.

When installing safety bars, please install with bars that go between legs...little ones can still slip through without that

Eldora is a disorganized mess. We stopped group lessons years ago. No accountability.

This seems like something you would have dealt with through logic and compassion, instead people have to beg you to do it for simple common sense. Ridiculous! Safety first when it comes to kids.

A lift that wide needs something for the 4 people in the middle to hold them in.

Safety bars = common sense. 6 year olds are WAY too small to ride any chair without a safety bar OR an adult. Safety bars should be mandatory on ALL chairs, ALL lifts and their use should be mandatory as well.

My daughter fell from a chairlift while in ski school 5 years ago (age 7), resulting in a broken ankle, many medical bills (none of them covered by Eldora), and emotional scarring. The lift operator did not notice her dangling from the lift and never stopped it. She fell over 20 feet. Please, please, please make the Eldora lifts safer for kids!

Putting anyone on a lift without a safety bar, given the wind conditions at Eldora, is a bad idea. Putting a child 6 and under in that same situation is negligent. Kids fall asleep, pole and ski get tangled, there are many reasons why a kids would shift and find a hard time getting back into position. Multiple parents have brought this exact issue up with Eldora management and been ignored. It's time to join the modern world. It's no longer the 70s and no longer ok to intentionally put a small child 2 stories in the air without so much as a safety bar.
