Make Eldora Safe for Kids

Unbelievable that things like this one still happen! Step up your game Eldora

Safety first!

This has been my biggest fear, since my kid started skiing when 3-years-old at Eldora. It is also why I passed over Eldora kid programs for safer ones at Winter Park and Copper.

As an adult who just learned how to ski myself, I can not imagine a child, who knows nothing about loading into a ski lift, left alone to ride the ski lift by themselves. I am sadden that this is common practice at Eldora and hope it will be changed soon.

What's being requested is a no brainer!

I would also see more patrol presence on the mountain. I was hit by an out of control skier a month ago. Both my young daughter have also almost been hit and we never see ski patrols helping keep people skiing and boarding in control like at other mountains.

They definitely need a safety bar they can be dead very dangerous without it obviously this would not have happened

It’s about time Eldora stepped up on this issue.

Getting on a chairlift when you’re a little kid is hard. Every kid should have an adult to make sure they are on properly and safe. We live in boulder and we’re coms eldorables. But no thank you.

This is a great idea. Children should not ride unaccompanied if they do not meet the physical requirements to do so. This is a common sense solution to maintain the safety of our children, while also protecting the ski resort from liability.

There is always a parent available when it comes to safety for a child.

More safety please!!!

As a former ski instructor & liftie on the east coast and here in Colorado, it is a culture that helps kids ride the lift safely. It is up to the instructor to alert the lift attendant there are kids coming through and have the lift slowed / additional attention paid & ensure all the kids are 'buddied up'. Likewise, all lift operators should be on the watch for risky riders on the lifts and adjust load speed and attention to the rider as appropriate - these were my marching orders when I started in the industry back in 1986. Maybe these skills have been lost over the years as lift technology has improved, but if you are going to run old equipment, you should respect the rules these machines were meant to run by. With a good safety culture in place, there are checks in place ensuring potential risks do not become realized.

Please please please make these critical upgrades necessary for basic safety.

Words such as "safety" have no meaning until there's action behind it. In my mind, this was waiting to happen on one of those old chairlifts.

70's scenario 2020: Eldora gets new chairs with bars. Prices go up worse than they are now. Customers complain. Seasonal employees blame it on overcautious parents.

My son is currently enrolled in the Eldorables program. He is not riding the chair lift yet, but when he gets to that point, I will not be comfortable having him in lessons at Eldora.

We are definitely not going to Eldora until these changes are made.
