Serial killers always start with animals. We definitely need harsher punishment along with an psychological evaluation and an extended probationary time.

No one should be allowd to treat an animal the way this Neanderthal treated Loki. Let the punishment fit the crime...and MAKE it a crime!

So many people feel its OK because they are hurting an animal. Harsher penalties might make them think twice.

I agree there should be stiffer penalties for animal cruelty, I have a cat and would hate for someone to mistreat her or to kill her.

There should be harsher penalties, not only because it is a precursor. These are innocent, defenseless, living beings who need protection.

Hopefully Colorado will realize that the animal abusers outnumber all dog attacks and make this right - a MINIMUM of class 5 felony

People should have to apply for a license to have animals and children! I say convicted offenders should get the same sentence as what they have afflicted upon the poor animal!
