Animal torture is a precursor to human torture and killing. There needs to be a much harsher penalty and psychological evaluation. This is a serious problem - not just "animal abuse".

When I had heard what happened, my heart just sunk.. Anyone who can do this to animals is a disgusting evil person. This probably wasn't his first time either and his torture to animals would be just the beginning. 18 months is a slap on the wrist. We need much harsher punishments for abusing and torture of animals. They are defenseless!!! They are our children too!!

Loki's death is just another reason for this felony class change to be made mandatory. Enough is enough it is time for tougher penalties. And I also agree that a heavy very indepth psychological evaluation be done on people who willingly torture, mutilate and abuse animals for their pleasure.
People who prey on helpless and innocent beings are among the most dangerous people in society, it only makes sense that these people face harsher punishment for meaningless acts of cruelty.
