Make Adams Ave Park Safe

Something needs to happen with this park. This is long overdue

I love our neighborhood, and I feel for these people, I'm concerned about the theft and trying to go run errands in the evenings, we are approached and being a single female I have to wonder what's going to happen depending on where I can park. Depending on the time of night I debate what to not have on me in case I'm attacked. I don't see an answer to this, since we would be pushing these people to another neighborhood. Can we make it where all of us can live among one another?

We are so park deprived compared to other neighborhoods already. We don't need to give up more park space for the homeless. Funny how they don't congregate in the similar park in Kensignton.

The park is for all sorts of things for families and children. I completely agree everything possible should be done to make it safe.

Would like to see the homeless probably improve at the park after hours!

I've wanted to go the ballgames there and the rec center but no way. That place scares, especially at night.

This is not only a homeless problem. It is also a huge drug and crime problem. Please let’s get out Avenue back together

Please clean this park up. I have felt unsafe for some time now walking by it.

This is not simply a homeless issue. It’s a crime issue. Crimes are committed regularly with little recourse so the perpetrators are getting bolder and bolder.

Please clean up the homeless situation in this park and Ward Canyon Park. Shameful to see several homeless people bedded down in full view of the public usually long before sundown. Drunk in public, litter, unsanitary conditions in our children’s playground!!

First of all this park is not really safe for young children, due to it being right next to the street. I do love the idea of putting an exercise area there that could be used for the boys and girls club and for local health encouragement. I live on 36th and have seen the things going on currently in that park. The drug and alcohol abuse in a park area where a children's structure stands and the fact the local law enforcement can't do anything; is asking for a problem. Feces all over the place, and a homeless population where Hepatitis A is rampant drinking out of the same water fountain as children; is unexceptable. The city needs to come up with options for the homeless and take back park area; making it enjoyable for all of the tax and rent paying individuals and in the neighborhood.

This park is no longer safe or for children to play in.

Please help in getting this park back to conditions where it would be safe for our families to attend and enjoy. Thanks!

Please restore the park on Adams Ave so that the community will be able to use the park with our children. Recent activity involving the homeless encampment at the park has made it impossible to come near the park without being threatened and unsafe.

I run by here often. I used to take breaks here to drink water, stretch, and do exercises like pushups, etc. It's gotten considerably worse over the past 3 years, and I no longer trust that I won't step on a needle or feces if I go on the grass. Also, some of the individuals living here ask me for money or offer drugs, even though I'm clearly a jogger out for a late night run. It's out of control.

My two year old daughter goes to school right next to this park. I hate that I constantly have to tell her "don't touch that!"when we're walking by on our way to dropping her off. We need to serve and protect all of our most vulnerable populations in this community. That includes our children as well as our homeless population. Allowing this park to remain in this condition serves neither group.

I watched a homeless man bath in the water fountain yesterday. Same man was urinating in the alley. Why is this allowed to go on?

Please remove these people from our beloved park and our neighborhood. They are squatting and loitering right in front of an elementary school. I saw one of them defecating. I want immediate action taken.

While my heart goes out to those suffering from lack of housing, this neighborhood is extremely park deficient. This has been a problem for way too long now and we need a workable solution.

Would love to feel safe using or even walking by this park again.
