Make Adams Ave Park Safe

Please provide better mental health services for these people. They're not helping themselves or us at this park.

Following comments from neighbors. Relaying confrontations and unsafe experiences occurring at this encampment. I feel I need to walk across the street while on Adams Ave to avoid dogs or possible problems at this location.

Enforce a 9/10 PM park curfew at least.

Taxpayers should feel safe. It is just common sense.

I don't feel safe in my neighborhood anymore. Had one car break-in this summer and stolen items from my porch.

I agree with all comments posted herein. A park is for families and children. They absolutely should not be exposed to criminal activity in a family setting.

This park has been taken over by a criminals and aggressive vagrants. It is unsafe for children and law abiding citizens. Please enforce the laws, and increase the police presence in the park.

There needs to be a place for these homeless people. A community park is not it. People can’t stop and sit after a walk or take their kids there. I don’t know what the solution is but something has to change.

I live near the park and I've watched it go from a place where children play to a place where drug deals and fights take place daily. I've called the police multiple times due to issues in the park. Please help make this area safe for the neighborhood again!

This city has become a disgrace. For the first time since the 1980's, I'm ashamed to call San Diego my home.

Send them somewhere else

Please clean up the whole city! And find a way to stop other cities from sending SD their problems. Most of the transients that have appeared over night are not from SD! POLICE!! Please do your job and keep people off the freakin mediums. And you people that are supporting the violators, STOP GIVING THEM $$$!!! You are making the problem worse. Get them off the streets then help them! And by the way the homeless are making this city dirty. I’m embarrassed to take family and friends around town because most of the businesses and the surrounding areas are disgusting because of the transients!

This is long overdue and community complaints have been ignored. Time for the city to step up and clean it up!

I support the goals of the petition but I also support raising money, either through taxes or private donations, to fund housing, social services, medical care, and job training for the homeless. I want them out of the park but I also don't want to push them down into the river bed where they are out of sight and completely neglected. They deserve our help. Is there any homeless agency such as Father's Joe's who would take them in? Maybe we could all contribute to that cause. That said, the homeless should not be allowed to be in our parks. Parks are for children. Let's HELP the homeless to relocate.
