Make a Safe Crossing on A275 in South Chailey

Please can you put a safe crossing on the road, so that the children can cross it in safety.

This section of the A275 near Mill Lane is in desperate need of a crossing. Council planning policy also needs to be revisited as the location of builders containers and road bollards is adding to the danger for the children at Chailey School.

There is a real need for a crossing before somebody gets hurt or killed. It’s SAFEGUARDING ISSUE.

Mortified to hear a student was run over here, it is a known area for speeders and on a bend.

I think it’s unbelievable that there isn’t a safe way for kids to cross the road near a school. This must be sorted!

It is imperative that a crossing is provided for all children particularly those local to the school who already have a challenging daily walk near fast moving traffic.

My Niece was hit by a van on her way to school on the 17th Oct after slipping off the grass verge, she suffered a broken collarbone, 2 breaks in her foot and lots of cuts and bruises. She is a yr 11 and was very lucky to walk away with relatively minor injuries. I cant help thinking that one of the younger/ smaller children would not have been so lucky.A safe crossing is a necessity for everybody in Chailey.

I think it is essential to have a safe crossing on the A275 near mill lane for the many school children who need to cross this road daily.

It seems rather ludicrous that there isn’t one there already! Get it down ASAP so that another child isn’t hurt.

I support this petition for a safer crossing to reduce the risk of further incidents happening.

This is essential for the safety of school children and residents to reduce the risk of further accidents occurring.

This is an accident waiting to happen, car drivers drive too fast on this stretch of road, the speed limit should be reduced as well. There is an urgent need for this.

I was watching a girl trying to cross this road to get to school last week probably a year 7 and my heart nearly stopped watching her trying to run across. Action needs to be taken now ... Not later ... Not after ... Now
