This traffic calming project definitely needs implementing. The neighbors and residents are willing to help the city with their volunteer hours in the extraordinary financial hits we have taken during the CoVid crisis. Please keep your commitment and fund these traffic calming improvements on 61st Ave SW. thank you

We need a safer street for everyone. Slowing down the faster cars, will surely help. Pedestrians find it very difficult to cross the street at the Hinds and 61st round-about, because it doesn’t do enough to slow the cars. More is needed; please hurry and get the work done.

If the city's pledge to do this project cannot be honored then 61st Ave SW should become a permanent Stay Healthy Street.

In my experience the traffic circles haven't slowed people down. I've countlessly almost been hit on my bike or in my car from other cars going the wrong direction around the traffic circles, trying to take a short cut. It's time for a change. If speed bumps aren't an option anymore then I petition for closing our street permanently with the City’s Safe Healthy Streets.

Please make our street safe again! Thirty years of too many cars going way too fast is ENOUGH!

I would urge the city to follow through with the approved traffic calming measures as 61st Ave SW is a very busy corridor for walkers, runners and bicyclists as well as children on their way from Alki Elementary to the care program at Alki UCC. This road was not designed for the volume of traffic that passes through here each day, often at excessive speeds, let alone share the corridor with others on foot. The city has mandated reduced speeds to 25mph to save lives as part of Vision Zero yet cars travel through here at speeds in excess of that. Add in the blindspots created by the roundabouts and the situation becomes all the more dangerous. Please give us the speed bumps as we have no other option than to designate it as a "Stay Healthy Street" - literally!

Even better then speed bumps, do not have this road go through, make mandatory turns like they have on Capitol Hill.

This way overdue! The tendency for motorists to cutoff the wider and limited access arterial Beach Dr/63rd to zoom through a few blocks of the much narrower 61st Ave has challenged pedestrian safety for way too long!!
