My brother in law was run into by a truck two months ago when he was cycling in Brooklyn. He needed several stitches on his arm and he is lucky to be alive. More needs to be done to protect cyclists and children crossing the street in this city. Please do your part to make streets as safe as possible. Thank you - a conference Brooklyn resident and parent.

This is a neighborhood full of children and families. There is no reason to not do this.

This is part of my family's daily commute with a baby in a stroller and a pre-k student on her way to school.

It’s not a traffic light we’re asking for, it’s a red eight-sided sign. It will prevent accidents. Why do we have to beg for every little bump and sign?

Stop signs are much safer than traffic lights. Everybody stops for a stop sign but most people speed up when the light is yellow.

Children walk this way from the middle school and grade school two blocks away. There should be signage!

All we need is a stop sign? Is that so much to ask? Why won't the DOT listen to citizens?

Please, please do something to make this crosswalk safer. Many children in the area are walking alone here and could easily be hit by a car turning quickly...and many do! Since it’s one way at that crosswalk the cars go speeding around the corner and there is very little visibility past the parked cars. Please help before someone is hurt or killed! This should not be difficult to resolve and our neighborhood depends on smart solutions to issues like this one. Thank you!
